Hey all! This is my first saltwater journey, heck my first aquarium journey besides the basic carnival goldfish in a round bowl. I bought a 55g off craigslist and had it all cleaned up ready to go. I was looking for a sump until my eyes caught a 75g that was for sale about an hour south of me.

It came with a sump, plumbing, return pump, overflow, canopy, and just a bigger overall tank. Decided to go down and pick that up. Brought it back with me tonight and got it all cleaned up. I have also purchased a Nova Extreme 6x54 light fixture and that came with 6 ATI bulbs and 2 extra ATI bulbs. I'll get the colors to you all later. I have a Vertex IN-300 protein skimmer all ready to go for the sump. I have 2 Koralia 1050 gph powerheads and 2 jager heaters ready to go into the tank.

Next on the agenda is going to be giving the sump, plumbing and over flow a vinegar bath along with the DT.

On March 8th I will be purchasing 60 lbs of Pukani base rock from BRS, a refractormeter, RO/DI system. I will then get 15 lbs of live rock to seed on the base rock.

Thats what I have planned for now. Stay tuned

I have the sump setup with the heaters, protein skimmer, and plumbing. I will get more pictures of the setup this week.

I put my final order in to Premium Aquatics tonight.

I am picking up some live rock from a local person on Friday so I can seed my dry rock

Here is my RO/DI unit that I installed in my garage the other day. I recently installed a trash can with a float valve

Yes I, like the porous rock like that, more than branch piece. IMO it makes coral placement easier.

Looking for thoughts and opinions on the scape the most right now. Really not sure what to do and if that will even look well. I'm sure I'll be adjusting it when I get the sand and saltwater in.

I am lousy at scapes. You will end up changing it a dozen times until you get so feed up or find one you really like.

It also depends on what kinds of corals and fish you want to keep. There are quite a few scape threads on this forum, you can probably find them doing a search. At least you have a lot of room to work with.
