The Red Sea kits are very nice! I test once every 3-4 days as you can see with my progress.

Thanks for the comments! I'm hoping to see some growth on the dry rock within a month or so.

Any thoughts on the numbers I'm getting for my tests?

Well I've been slacking with updates but photobucket wasn't cooperating with me.

I see some great growth on the dry rock which is hard to see in the pictures. I am getting a whole bunch of little clear bugs (not sure how else to describe them) they are crawling everywhere and not sure what these are.

    Test:

    April 11, 2011 - Day 19

    pH 8.4
    Nitrite 0.05
    Nitrate 5
    Ammonia 0

I put two more raw shrimp in to make sure there was an ammonia spike.

Looks good so far. I would wait until those nitrites come all the way down though before adding anything.

Wow haven't been here forever! Time for an update:

I just picked up 5 Turbos and 5 Ceriths tonight. Going to get some Nassarius and Astreas on Thursday. Now I'm looking for some advice for fish and other inverts.

I am going to be having soft corals in the tank so I'm going to need reef safe fish and inverts.

    Fish:

    Wrassle
    Clown
    Yellow Tang
    Red hawk?

    I want unique fish.

    Inverts:

    Shrimp?
    Sea cucumber?

Not really sure what other inverts I could get. I don't want any crabs.

    Any advice?

Also does anyone have a website to check my intended fish purchases? Want to make sure everyone will get along and what to feed the fish. Thanks

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The tank looks great, nice arches. Those turbos are huge. Pretty blue montipora.
