    Just doing a little research on clam and found so good information I want to share with the reefers. Maybe it will become a perm post to answer any further questions on clam lighting.

    T.Crocea = 6-9" Max intense lighting (MH), Cal: 400-450, Flow: mod to high

    T.Derasa = 12" Max (T5)Moderate to Intense lighting (MH), Cal: 400-450 Flow: Low to Mod

    T.Gigas = 36" and up (T5) Moderate to highlighting (T5 top of tank, or MH), Cal: 400 - 450 Flow: slow to low

    T.Maxima =14" = intense lighting (MH), Cal: 400-500, Flow Low to mod

    T.Squamosa = 16" (T5) moderate to intense lighting(MH) ** light tolerant, Cal: 400-450, Flow: low to mod

    All clam benefit from feedings of phytoplankton

    Good info. I didn't know there was a clam that stayed as small as the T. Crocea. You might want to think about writing about their predators. I've heard conflicting ideas about a zillion different things that supposedly eat them but I don't know for sure.
