You could get another fish for sure, anthias' are cool but really peaceful, my delectus dottyback terrorized my anthias when I first got it. Hawkfish are cool too if you don't have shrimp. Or you could go for a type of dottyback but be aware they can be extremely evil... like mine, just read my signature ha ha

rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per 2 galllons of water so if th fish are 6 inches at adult size ur lloking at 12 gallons but thats my opinion but just take it slow and see what happens

Ummm.... what? 2 tangs in a 57 gallon with a maroon clown? I would say you are at max if not over it. Rules of thumb are terrible ways to stock a tank as they rarely take into consideration swimming space. For instance, a tang really needs a minimum of a 4' long tank and thats even too small for some tangs.

My suggestion would be to leave it as is(unless you are willing to trade in the tangs) for a while and see how it goes. You may run into nitrate issues, aggressiveness issues or even deaths with that fish load.

And now that I have done further research, I would trade in the Mata tang as those get huge and mean fast. They are more suited for a 200+ tank.

Read that. Its a beautiful fish, but gets to 19" long!

Thats is also the reason I hate the inch per gallon rules. That fish need a huge tank, but if you go by th 1:2 inch per gallon you could put it in a 40 gallon tank easily. Problem there is, when full grown, the fish would not be able to turn around. Tangs need a lot of swimming room as they are very active swimmers.

A 6" fish can live in a 12 gallon tank? Are you insane? That rule has no meaning. Space put aside, a 6" fish is going to have an incredibly larger bioload than 6 1" fish.

That tank is overstocked no question. There isn't enough room for tangs who aren't bristletooths and that maroon is going to be very mean when he gets 6" in a tank that size.

That tank is overstocked already. I would be taking fish out not adding. Inch per gallon is a dumb rule and doesn't apply at all in sw tanks. 2 tangs alone in that tank is pushing it. I had a yellow tang in my 90g and I felt bad for it cuz it looked like it needed more room.

For saltwater I thought the rule was 1" of fish per 4 gallons?

I'd say you are OVERstocked with two tangs.

That would put a 6" tang in a 24 gallon with that rule. Not a good idea.
Those rules are absolutely crazy. Each fish has diffrent requirements and should never be put in a tank based on inch per gallon. It actually bothers me that people still use that.
