Just venting as I'm trying to get my 6-line wrasse out of my tank without destroying everything. I have wasted about 6hrs of my life so far trying. The thing that makes me super annoyed is that when I first started trying I had the sucker in the net & he slipped out at the very last moment. So, I was thinking this will be cake but I guess not.

A few methods I've tried are putting a small piece of liverock & banding some raw shrimp to it in front of the net. I also sacrificed a snail and put it in front of the net. I've been leaving my large net in the tank to get them used to it being there. I've come soooooo close many times but he always seems to get away. And as always every one of my other fish are swimming into the net and are not scared except, of course, that dang wrasse!

Does anyone share my pain, ughhhh. Don't fish have short term memries, I swear that sucker knows I am stalking him.

    Funny....but not funny!
I have been through this so many times taking fish out, I actually had to move rock and divide my tank so I had a better chance in a smaller area to catch them.

Man it totally sucks so bad and I do feel your pain.

i have a flame angel that nips at my corals and would love to remove him. i am not willing to move my rocks so he has easily won that battle so far. i think he knows that i don't like him and is the only fish that hides when i approach the tank. let us know how successful you are with this trap. i,m sure that i would just catch my cleaner shrimp over and over.

funny you mention that Say, I have the same prob with my flame the kicker is that when I was trying to catch him, no chance. Now that I'm after my wrasse, he has been literally swimming into the net, go figure. I made my peace with him and decided to keep him or I would have caught him 10x over already.

If you are still trying to get your flame out, try rubber-banding some meaty food to a small piece of rock and then place a net behind that area so you basically can just trap him between the net and front of the tank. Also sacrificing a snail would most likely get him out in the open too.

Are you using two nets? I've used that method to remove an Electric Blue Damsel that was terrorizing my Royal Gramma. One net didn't work as he was too quick. Two nets and thirty seconds later, he was in his own tank.

6line are fast and smart fishes. they can dart in and out of little holes.. making a fish trap is probly going to be the route to take.

I'm actually using 4 nuts :), but the problem is my rock is stacked pretty perfectly in the middle of my tank so there's not a lot of room in the front or back to manuever, so it's uber hard. Not to mention all the corals I have that I'm trying not to disturb.

+1 on me making a trap tonight RIda, wish me luck!
