Hi, I have a 200ltr natural reef tank, with 50kg live rock sitting on a shaped eggcrate arrangement 2cm above a 6cm deep live sand substrate. Because of the rock positioning I have three 1200lt/hr Tunze pumps pushing upwards at the back[behind the rock], and a 3000ltr one pushing across the front of the tank. This flow rate just creates enough flow to wave my inverts slightly, and also provide a flow of approx 5cm/second under my rock on the eggcrate. I have 1ppm N3 and nil phos, I change 20ltr/month, and my top up is 3ltr a day. [2 clowns/copperband/boxer shrimp/4scarlet shrimp] + 1 hermit crab. I have no bad algae. Regards
