Ok! As some of you already know, if everything goes as planned financially I will be upgrading my 10 gallon reef to the Red Sea Max 250 in mid September. ;D So excited! :trampolin

Anyways, I can't decide what to do with my 10 gallon. I have spent countless hours starring at my little nano reef. This was my first saltwater tank EVER with only about 2 years experience in freshwater aquariums. It was a shaky start but I believe I was much more successful than alot of people who try a 10 gallon reef as their first saltwater tank. It was all thanks to 3reef, dedication, a brain starving for more information and a true passion. This tank means alot to me so I didn't really want to simply tear it down and stuff it in the closet. I can't stand the fact the I would have a full setup sitting in the closet and not being put to good use. So what should I do? Leave it running as an extra reef? Or a frag tank?

I know that you all have upgraded before so thats why I'm asking. Should I tear it down and move on to bigger and better things? What did you do with your tank when you upgraded? Am I just being silly? Will I be so attatched to my new system that the empty 10 gallon in my closet wont bother me? I put ALOT of time into this little tank making sure the water is perfect, and I don't want to continue to keep it running if I would get so involved with my new reef that I forget about my 10g and don't keep up the maintenance. Is keeping two tanks too much work?

    ADVICE 3reef!

(you all think I'm crazy...lol.... I am............ Iraq does that to people) :loco:

Well, when I upgraded, I personally couldn't stand having two tanks running! (my smaller system stayed up while my big system fully cycled). It got to be too much for me. So maybe you could try that the same way and see how it goes ;)
Some other ideas if you keep it. You could do a frag tank, but keep fish in it too. Maybe a mated pair of firefish. They would do OK in a 10 gallon, and are something a little different. Could do clowns as well but that would be pushing it. Maybe a pistol shrimp and goby combo?

I've been up all night brain storming over a cold beer. ;D It's already a PITA maintaining the 3 tanks I have. (2 fresh 1 salt)
I think I may just upgrade and combine my two freshies into a larger aquarium, and also upgrade my nano reef to the RSM 250. Once everything is established and upgraded I will only have two decent sized systems. But if you can imagine for just a second, for a week or two while everything is being setup, I'll have 5 aquariums in my living room! ROFLMAO:yelrotflm

(you ever stay up all night thinking, then finally come to a conclusion, and it's like the weight is lifted off your shoulders? I can sleep now)

But I'm still interested in your opinions.
