Im thinking I kinda want to transfer my 15g into the 20g. Then I could use the 15 as a sump. Do you think it would be worth all the work? What would be the best way about going at it?

well space does count but 5 gallons isnt really a huge amount but i guess in the salt water world every little bit counts i would go for it if you wanna invest the time in transferring

I personally dont think it would be worth all the work for such a small system. But, having that kind of system would better your chances on running a more stable system being so small and all.

meh i went from a 14g to a 20g and the bicube looks tiny compared to the new tank, the 5 (six in my case) turned out to be a lot. i also added a 10g sump, my params hardly ever budge now. way easier to take care of salinity too.

first things first i would make sure that the 20 long is still water tight. and have you used it for anything else? (freshwater fish?)

i say go for it. you are not just adding 5 gallons but also the volume of the sump. also a better place for skimmers and such so the DT doesnt look so "busy". not to mention the posibility of a refugium as well.

all i can see are benefits from a little hardwork. go for it dude

Its 5 gallons more tank space but another 20g for the system. It would be so much more stable. I dont even know how I would go about doing it though since I already have my tank established.

Take everything in 15 and put it in the 20 and mix up a home depot bucket of saltwater and your done. Obviously it takes a while but you get the gist.

Do you like the way the 15 gal is setup? You could use the 20 as the sump/fuge and get all the benefits without the hassles of breaking down the 15, it will also let you move the heater and such out of the main display.
