So the Halloween Hermit has got to go! It's too big and since I'm paranoid of using glues/epoxy in this small tank the crab rearranges the scape on a daily basis.
So this is my (hopefully) final aquascape. I added another duster that came from my 20 gallon. I'm converting that tank to a grow out.

I plan on putting some more of the ORA Hyancinth in the background but atm I'm looking for some nice encrusting monti's and zoas/palys to fill in the low ground and that shelf. I also want a nice tabling acro to compliment the high point. Any ideas?
Oh, and the Assessor is doing great! It is so shy and only comes out when I feed. It will stay out as long as I'm the only person by the tank and don't have a camera in my hand.

Some other random shots I took since the camera was out....

Oh man. What have I done?

I just sent an order to BRS for a ReefKeeper Lite Basic and a Tunze Nano Osmolator. The wife is going to kill me!

Buyers remorse and Excitement all at once.

I changed the main title after talking with Andy from Aqueon. He is the designer of the Evolve series desktops. The "8" in the title "Evolve 8" apparently doesn't designate volume but size. If I'd done some math and used a simple volume calculator (or read the box ;) ) I'd have known this.
The net volume of the entire system of the size 8 is 6.3 gallons with the display area being a mere 4.9.
Under 5 classifies it as a pico in anybodies book....love it!

This is a really cool build so far! Definitely progressing. I was contemplating getting the evolve 8 for my mom for mothers day. She really wants a little planted tank. 4.9 gallons makes alot more sense as far as volume goes. Such a cool and sleek little tank though! Keep the updates coming! If your wife doesnt kill you that is. ::)

I thought I posted it in this thread, but I was going to say that the main display area was just under 5 gallons as I found when filling it. A little over 6 gallons is what it took to fill the whole tank. Good call on the name change though!

This morning I notice that my Assessor was out in the open. Wonderful! Right? I thought it had finally got past being so shy. Closer inspection revealed a major gash across the back of the fish, right behind it's dorsal. It's tail fin is also frayed.
I was able to easily coax it into a plastic cup. It did not want to go anywhere near the rocks. The only culprit can be a smallish CBS that I had added a couple days ago because the tank it was in is being tore down.
The Assessor will go home with me and into the QT to get treated for it's wounds. I'll also treat it with prazipro because the only place it has to go after treatment is into my 75.

The wife saw the online bank statement and card charges this morning. To say the least she was not pleased. But I've found in the years I've been married it's far more easy to not ask and then apologize than ask and be disappointed. Hahaha

The package will be here tomorrow :2thumbsup

LOL It's not that comfy considering I've worn it out over the years. Considerably more so since I took up this addiction we call a hobby. ::)

    Thanks for the compliment!
