I involve my wife with all new additions (fish, inverts & corals) and bring her with me to the LFS all the time. She is into the tanks almost as much as me and never says anything about new purchases. I am also currently cycling a pico tank for dwarf seahorses, which are for her :)

    Just some pointers :)

LOL. How long have you been married? When I say years for me I mean years...we have 7 kids and 3 grandchildren. My wife's into the tanks and hobby, she's just not addicted to it and doesn't understand how important new corals, fish and toys are to those of that are. :)

Anywhoo, getting the thread back on track. The box of goodies will be here tomorrow. I also ordered a new Typhon since I broke the other one and it flashes on ramp cycles. Boost sent me an invoice via PayPal for just the unit. I have no idea when it will come. I haven't heard anything back from them since I paid.

And two stock lights to boot :) Want a third? I'll send you mine but you'll have to put it back together. I took it apart looking for a way to mod it and accept Cree's. lol

Yours looks nice. I almost picked up the 4 because I originally planned on H. zostrae. Glad I didn't now. What saved me is the fact that the skimmer wouldn't fit in the back on the size 4. The manager @ PetSmart let me take both sizes out of their boxes to measure and test fit. lol

    Thanks :)

The box from BRS arrived on time....the Elos SvM2 Marine Diet was the best item in the box as far as I'm concerned at the moment.

The sensor on the Tunze Osmolator wouldn't fit the spot I had in mind for it. Then when I did find a place that it would kinda work the float would stick closed every single time I did a test run.
So now my options are to get rid of the skimmer and go to small water changes every other day...pain in the uh huh since it's in a business and pretty much nullifying the need for an ATO. Or I can drain the back chambers and knock the bottom out of the intake chamber. :(Louie, my good, good friend, if you are reading this stop here and continue at the next paragraph:( Or I could pick up a AquaC Remora Nano and run the maxi-jet 900 that feeds it out of the intake chamber.

I thought I'd relieve some stress by playing with the RKL. Yeah right. It doesn't come with a manual and finding the pdf file link on the Digital Aquatics site gave me a minor migraine. Trying to track down a link for the MyReef 2.0 software was equally as painful and then when I did find, I cant figure out how to use it to rename channels and program the the head functions I would like to use. LOL
I've spent the last 3 hours watching videos on you tube and reading posts on the DA forums. I know I'm writing a detailed out of the box basic use guide for this thing once I get it figured out.

The Tunze Osmolator Nano is in but I had to modify it a bit to make it work. Probably set myself up for a wreck but I'm so fed up with this "quality" junk that I just bought I don't care. The magnet mount was causing the float to stick, not the splash guard as I first presumed. The magnets are so strong that when the halves were in place it was causing pull to the float. Not only that both halves magnets are just "raw" cut with no coating what so ever. I didn't want the wet side in my water like that any way. So this is what I did...

I added a short arm to the light post drilled a 1/4" hole in it and tapped the hole. I used half of a hang on acrylic bracket to support the float. A DIY nylon bushing holds the bracket out from the arm so that the float will sit dead center of the only open space in the return section. The space is about 1.5" square.

    The arm..

The bracket had to be cut down on the float switch end so that it would fit the space. I used my Dremel to do this.
Also the float on the Tunze switch was a bit large in diameter so I swapped it out for one off a brand new micro switch. To do this I had to "shave" off 4 ridges that ran the length of the Tunze switch post.

    The switch in it's location...

I stuck the head unit on the back of the light support post.

And now the thorn in my side! My Reef Keeper Lite.
This thing still is not working like it should. I've found so many threads explaining how to program it, followed their directions and it still doesn't do what I tell it to. Example: Channel 2 is skimmer and is supposed to go into the programmed stand by. The PC4 will show that channel is off in stand by but there is still power to the skimmer.
Other problems are every time I plug in the SID V2 it is not recognized. The software won't graph, Alarms won't function...... I'm at my wits end.

Since the Assessor has been moved out I decided I would add this little guy while he's still little. I was going to sell him but he's just so friendly I changed my mind.

He'll eventually have to go live some where else but for now he's plenty small enough to hang out for a bit.

After days of frustration I was finally able to get the RKL figured out with the help of other reefers out on the www. It's now working just like I want it to.
The mod to Tunze switch has worked flawlessly for a couple of days.
The new BoostLED Typhon will come in tomorrow.
Once again, life is grand ;)

Way to go and nice Tunze bracket there - almost looks like it is 5/8" thick!
