    Hi
I need an Ultra Silent Skimmer required for Red Sea Max 130D.
I have currently the Tunze 9002, but i need one more silent.
    Please help me choose one.
    Thanks

I'm very happy with my Cadlight PLS100,very quiet, very small footprint, and skims well.

would you recommend this skimmer for a 65-70 total system volume with biopellets? I'm also in the market for a future skimmer upgrade

Does it fit the Red Sea Max 130D with a Hood?

Have you tried the Tunze 9002 skimmer? Is it more quiet?

There is no such thing. Noise is completely subjective and meaningless on the web with no sound level readings. Bubble Kings have some of the best pumps, and mine was not "silent". It was quiet.

Not isolating the pump can make a "silent" skimmer noisy. Soft couplings, neoprene mats. Do not allow it to touch the sides.. all can transmit noise.

Tunze is good to begin with. Bubble King, ATB, Alphas... all expensive, and I can't tell you if it is "quiet" enough for you.

You are going to be really limited with that size. Not that you can't get a good skimmer, but not a lot of high end skimmers for that size. A Tunze 9002 is a really good skimmer.

If sump space is not an issue I think I would look at something larger such as a reef octo. The pls100 is rated by the manufacturer for a system as large as yours but I think it's better suited to smaller systems.

+1,To me the pls100 in my sump is quiet.Slide it up against the sump wall and it will buzz lowdly. There are a lot of factors and nobody can know what someone else will consider quiet.
