    Updates!

So here are a few updates of my tank. I had an outbreak of dyno on my sand bed that was getting out of hand so I shut down the lights and wrapped the tank in a towel for 10 days. During this period I also did a complete sump makeover. I siphoned the sump dry and cleaned it thoroughly, cleaned all equipment, changed my overflow to a J type so that I get better surface agitation and allow more of the dust that tends to accumulate there to be sucked off of the surface by the protein skimmer. I also added a 6" dsb to my refugium area as there was none there before and it bothered me.

It's been roughly 2 weeks now and everything seems stable, I'm hoping that all of my effort has gotten to the root of the problem and I wont have another outbreak. I'm also amazingly just now after 8 months seeing some actual coralline showing up on my glass and rock and my hammer has split into 4 heads and my frogspawn into 6. I credit this to keeping my parameters steady by dosing daily, hopefully I'll have more success to come and fewer setbacks.

I cant update without pics that just goes against everything I believe! lol So here are a few shots of a new addition and a clam that i've had for quite a while and never really photographed for some strange reason! Here ya Go.

Duncan..I really like this one and hear they grow like mad!

Thanks Kacey! Hopefully now it will grow like I've heard they do. I really like it, watched a guy at the fish store hand feed one krill..that was pretty sweet.

It's time to swap out old bulbs with new, I have decided that I like a bluer tank

than a pure white so I did a lot of thinking about a combo that would give me

a cooler look without being smurf blue. I will have to update one more time

because I still have one ATI blue+, one Aquablue special and one ati aquasun

10k to add. This should be close to the final product though. I'm quite pleased.

    Front to back

    Blue + (new)
    Aquablue Special (new)
    ATI 03 actinic (new)
    Aquablue Special (new)
    Blue+ (new)
Aquasun 10k Replacing with Aquablue special
Super Actinic Replacing with Aquasun 10k
    Aquasun 10k Replacing with Blue+

Here are before and after pics.

    A) Your tank has so much algae that's all I could see. You really should clean that up! ( inside joke :) )
    B) I LOVE the bluer look. I can really see a difference. It looks great!!
    C) I really like the new rock work. Looks really awesome!!
