I have Ulva, Chaeto, and Grape Caulerpa in my refugium. My nitrate levels are about 40ppm. Do you think I should leave the lights on 24/7 or opposite of the display tank?

I do exactly the same, works great for me. Have it go dark during the 6 peak hours of your display lighting. My ph is really stable this way and algae is growing pretty well.
