I am very new to the saltwater hobby and have bought books and read hour upon hours of information about sand, salt, fish, coral, and just about everything else. I have learned a lot about how to care for the fish and stuff but there is a small list of things that have gone unanswered. This forums seemed like the right bunch to ask for help. Here are some of the things that I can think of right now that puzzle me, I am sure I will add to the list.

    Aquarium Questions

What does a nudibranch eat and how do you fee them?

Small Blue Hippo Tang, what do they eat and how do you feed them?

Electric Flame Scallop, what do they eat and how do you feed them?

Dark brown algea starting to form on all live rock, how to get rid of it?

Bali Tube Worm, just feed it phytoplankton or zooplancton or is there something special to do?

I see so much advertisements about garlic for fish food as a dip and to help with ich, what's all the excitement about?

Is it really easier to have a clown fish host a anemone with the use of a picture of them together?

After you get a coral frag, what do you do with it, how do you "plant" it so that it starts spreading and growing?

    Also,
I am purchasing a 40gal acrylic SeaClear aquarium, what would be a unique setup and stock for that tank? (just trying to get some ideas together)

Thank you all for the help.

What does a nudibranch eat and how do you fee them?...most are algae eaters, some consume aiptasia, some consume coral...depends on the species.

Small Blue Hippo Tang, what do they eat and how do you feed them?
Most will eat anything but need a lot of seaweed and herbivore food in their diet to remain healthy
Electric Flame Scallop, what do they eat and how do you feed them?
most cannot keep them alive in reef tanks longer than 6 months because of their needs. They are filter feeders that need the addition of micro-plankton
Dark brown algea starting to form on all live rock, how to get rid of it?
most likely diatoms. They will disappear when their are no more silicates in the water. The feed on silicates which come from sand, new plastic devices, and crappy water, just basically a syndrome of new tanks. It will disipate as long as you have good reverse osmosis water.
Bali Tube Worm, just feed it phytoplankton or zooplancton or is there something special to do?
yes, it will filter feed on liquid organics such as phytoplankton

I see so much advertisements about garlic for fish food as a dip and to help with ich, what's all the excitement about?
fish love the taste of garlic, it helps finicky eaters accept new foods, helps promote a stronger immune system.

Is it really easier to have a clown fish host a anemone with the use of a picture of them together?
I got my clowns to host my frogspawn with a picture taped to the tank....took a matter of days.

After you get a coral frag, what do you do with it, how do you "plant" it so that it starts spreading and growing?
you dont plant it....usually people place them in a frag rack or super glue them to rock using common super glue gel.

I am purchasing a 40gal acrylic SeaClear aquarium, what would be a unique setup and stock for that tank? (just trying to get some ideas together)
sounds like you already have some ideas listed above.

Thank you all for the help.

    1. depends on the nudibranch . . . google will know for sure

    2. hippo tangs eat what all other tangs eat. mostly nori, flakes, frozen brine, mysis and krill. please dont get one for your 40 gallon tank, they get quite large.

    3. as far as I know they are filter feeders

    4. that dark brown algae is probably diatoms, but hard to know for sure without a pic.

    5. again there filter feeders, marine snow or zoo plankton added to the water colum might be all they need. I could be wrong tho.

    6. garlic stimulates a feeding response. te more a fish eats the healthier it will become . . . within reason of course.

    7. never heard of that one.

    8. the way you plant a frag is placing it in your tank under optimum flow and lighting conditions. you can attach them to larger rocks for stability but it not entirely necessary.

theres no way to give you a unique stocking list for your 40 gallon, it all comes down to personal preference. do plenty of reading and find what you like then try and make it work in the space you have available.

What does a nudibranch eat and how do you fee them?
Agreed, check google, or liveaquaria.com for more info on your specific one.

Small Blue Hippo Tang, what do they eat and how do you feed them?
I would not put any Tang in a 40 gallon tank, they will quickly outgrow it. Check out liveaquaria.com for recommended tank sizes, they are very reliable.

Electric Flame Scallop, what do they eat and how do you feed them?
Not worth even trying this, it will die, it is just a matter of when

Dark brown algea starting to form on all live rock, how to get rid of it?
Again, probably either diatoms or possibly cyano, but more likely diatoms

Bali Tube Worm, just feed it phytoplankton or zooplancton or is there something special to do?
Any food designed for filter feeds will work.

I see so much advertisements about garlic for fish food as a dip and to help with ich, what's all the excitement about?
Garlic helps fish immune systems just as it does with us. It is certainly not an end all solution to ich, but it can help your fish from getting it and help them combat it.

Is it really easier to have a clown fish host a anemone with the use of a picture of them together?
Some people have had luck with using a picture.

After you get a coral frag, what do you do with it, how do you "plant" it so that it starts spreading and growing?
Get a reef epoxy from a store or online and you can use that to attach it to where you want it to stay.

Small Blue Hippo Tang, what do they eat and how do you feed them?
Nori aka seaweed, live brine shrimp, frozen mysis shrimp

Dark brown algea starting to form on all live rock, how to get rid of it?
diatom algae, will go away. if not then you have silica issues, change water source, use only R.O. water or distilled.

I see so much advertisements about garlic for fish food as a dip and to help with ich, what's all the excitement about? garlic boost appetite and help build immune system.

Is it really easier to have a clown fish host a anemone with the use of a picture of them together? Never heard this.
