I have a crab in my tank which I have seen twice in a year. Very shy and hard to get a photo of. It is about the size of a dime and brown and off white stripes and on body and legs. Any ideas what this might be? Anyone know of a good resource I can look into. Google images was not much help. thanks

Sorry, but without a good photo and with there being a great many possibles, this would end up as a never ending guessing game. However, since they are the most common, try looking at the Xanthidae crabs first, their claws and carapace shape are most telling.
