unidentified snail. no pics

    I turned on my lights last night a around 3:00. I noticed a baby snail about the sixe of a pinto bean. he had the mouth of a trochus snail with two antennas but he also had a tail. Sound familiar?

    i forgot what they are called but i googled it once wen i did the same thing. they are in your rock during the day and repoduce(sp?) quickly. they eat algae and are good so be happy.

    Looked somwhat simlair to this A Stomatella varia but then again I wa thinking it could also be a baby trochus? I heard they reproduce easily in the aquarium,

    ok. an update on the snail. it was somking today. the smoke looked to be coming out of a vent onthe right side by his head. What is this? Should I get rid of this small snail. it looks to just be an algae eater by I dont want any trouble from this lil guy. lol

    "Smoking" is a reproductive behavior.

    sounds like a stromtella snail. that's how mine reproduce...they're amazing cleaners, and my cleaner shrimp likes to eat the babies :(
