This was attached to a coral we bought a year ago. Now it's quite big and doing well, but not sure what it is.

Does this eat meat? I was waving a piece of silversides above it and the tentacles grabbed it and pulled it in. Otherwise we never actively feed it.

Yes, it eats similar to any other LPS. It can actually eat a decent size piece. It may take awhile. I have seen them eat slow snails.

Not the easiest LPS to keep, usually belongs in the sand bed. Some thrive, IMO most do not. It's prone to tissue tears on substrate, is easily irritated by not the right flow and placement.

I would not change a thing.

Did you compare any images of Fungia against your coral to make sure the ID is correct?

Ours has much longer tentacles or whatever ya call em, but looks the same in color. Our tank is doing great for being a bit over a year old. I'll post a few pics.

I dont really do much with the tank maintenance wise. rarely a water change and just switch out the filter sock when it needs it. Water is clear and never really add anything to it, Just misis in the evening and a snack of Thera A in the mornings. Our skimmer motor burnt out a few months ago and do not have the cash to get a new one, but it seems our corals love the tank even more since they seem to be going crazy with growth.

It's beautiful, I love all the mushrooms.

Definitely something to be said for low tech systems. My lps always did better without a skimmer as well.
