so i get home tonight after lights went out of the tank and spotted a little white thing on the front glass, upon further inspection i notice it was a tiny starfish totally white underneath and on the other side its kind of brownish? and has a little point in the middle of it, the only things i done recently are brought in a piece of LR, a couple of toadstools and some mushrooms and a linkia starfish, im a little worried incase its a coral munching monster haha any advice would be appreciated

Look up asterina starfish and see if that is what you have. That is my guess. If it is you have a lot more than that one in there!!!!

Well, they can act as part of the clean up crew. I have some in my tank and I just let it go. So far I haven't had to remove any, but if the population explodes, then I will scoop out many and leave a few. They are not evil.

They are not ENTIRELY evil :) heh. They are a good part of a clean up crew. The only downside that I have noticed of the ones that are in my tank are that they find Tubbs Blue zoas quite tastey.. mine did anyway. They have never bothered any other zoas or any other new additions, but I have no more Tubbs Blues.

I say just keep an eye on them, especially after adding new items.

I stand corrected. Not entirely evil. I was not aware of their relative tastes for certain corals. Thanks N. K+
