Unkown starfish id please?!?

    clicking noise could mean you have a pistol shrimp in there :p

    Yea, if you have one starfish, you probably have more and they are difficult to see on live rock. They do not multiply too badly that I have seen, it probably depends (somewhat) on how much they have to eat in the system. All in all, I still consider them beneficial.. Its an ecosystem, not my utopia :)

    The clicking at night ends up being one of two things 99% of the time. A pistol shrimp or a mantis shrimp. A red film or lens on a low powered flashlight after lights out will help you look around w/o spooking things, if you want to try to see it. Happy hunting!

    Hopefully you don't have a mantis shrimp. If you do get it out ASAP.
