Hi everyone, First I would like to thank you all for your help over the past few weeks with our issues. I am now getting distressed as i cant work out what i am doing wrong. We have 2 reef tanks which i treat exactly the same every day. The issue is the one in our sons bedroom (we started the whole fish thing after he suffered a head injury in Feb this year and was unable to watch any tv, play PSP etc for a long time)

We have lost a few fish within days of purchasing and our LFS has checked our parameters at the times of death and refunded the fish as all have been correct. Lost - Tri color angel, blennie, lime gobie.

Then we suddenly lost our first clowns after 2 months in the tank. I posted a thread and we concluded with the assistance of the LFS it was Ich. I even tried a freah water dip but lost them both within 48hours.

We then purchased replacement clowns and after 3 days in the tank have seen the same white discoloring (almost spots) all over the body, but also a velvet look on the angel and the manderin. All are eating OK. The Angel has always been shy and a bit strange. We did notice a couple of weeks ago that he had a lifted scale which seemed to heal - dont know if this is related?

I removed all the corals from the main tank as i thought it was better to dose the tank _ we cant catch the angel.

I have API marine and Reef test kits - Electronic PH pen, Aqua Depot Salinity Refractometer.

Here are the details as of today after dosing tank with Marine Anti Protozoal for 3 days 4ml twice day, 2 x 20% water changes using RO water and Instant ocean salt within 48 hours

    PH 8.2, Temp 81, SG 1.022, ammonia .50 , phosphate .5, nitrite 0, Nitrate 20, Calcium 420, KH 14,I dont have a test for Mag. 130Ltr, Aqualina T5 - 2 actinic 6 hours 2 daylight 8 hours + nightlight all remote timers, Octopus Skimmer, Eheim canister 2313, water fan.
Live rock and sand, soft corals, 1 x Angel, 1 x mandarin, 2 new clowns, several pistol shrimp, hermit crabs.

As you can see my ammonia has increased so i am thinking i should remove the fish and continue medication in the quarantine tank - If the medication is correct - get the main tank parameters correct - then add corals then fish back.

    Can anyone help????

I'm thinking that you have a bad case of marine velvet.

is there a best way to treat? I will do some research....although its changed this morning and looks like they have been rolling in the sand with pieces all over them! The clowns are constantly playing in the bubbletip which i left in the main tank for them.

Also, before i started dosing the main tank i removed the corals into a small QT. Would I be able to put them into our second main tank which is all well - no issues at all - or could the corals spread the parasite/whatever it is into tank 2?
