in my 90G right now i have:

    1 yellow tang
    1 starry blennie
    2 clowns
    3 damsels
    1 cleaner shrimp

im about to get some more fish, and wanted to see what you guys thought about it, or if you had any better ideas

    1 copperband butterfly
    1 purple firefish
    1 blue hippo tang
    1 powder blue tang
    1 white cheek tang

all my prams are stable and are where they should be, by current bioload is pretty light. i'd get all these guys from LiveAquaria . com, they seem pretty legit, alot of good reviews.

all thoughts questions and concerns are welcome

I would say 2 Tangs in a 90g would be best, they grow quick, eat like pigs. Just my 2 cents.

all the fish i would get would be small/young ones, and when they start getting to big, ill upgrade to a 180 or bigger (thats already in the works)

what if i cut out the blue hippo ( i hear they are the most ich pron fish out there)

so id have 3 tangs, the butterfly, the blenny, clows, firefish, and 3 damsels

oh ok, didn't know you had a 180g plan to upgrade. I have kept 3 of those 4 tangs (Powder Blue, Blue Hippo, Purple). The Powder Blue can be very hard to keep (esp when young, many starve), I was lucky with mine, had to really get it eating. It is also very aggresive when it grows larger. If it was me I would leave that one out of the mix. The track record of Hippos and Purple's are much more forgiving than any Powder Tang (Blue or Brown).

I also never had any of my Tangs come down with ich. Just have good water params and maintenence and don't stress them out. Feed lots of greens too, seaweed clips, etc.

FYI the Copperband is a bit of a fragile fish, very shy. Doesn't compete well with other bolder fish for food. I also lost one of those due to starvation, it's common for them to just die unexpectedly. They also can be coral nippers, mine destroyed my brain coral right before he died.

well the copperband is for aiptasia thats starting to break out in my system. i dont want to use any chemical to fix that proplem unless i have too, so ill start with the copperband and 2-3 pepermint shrimp. and im pretty religious about feeding my yellow tang and blenny "green marine algae" from ocean nutrition, and the rest of the fish prime reef flakes from the same brand.

id like to get into frozen foods and such, so id like a fish whos more difficult to keep.

    risk/reward type of thing

I hear ya, it was nice to be successful with my PBT when the LFS cautioned against it saying it would be dead in a few months. I actually traded him back as he got bigger, got very aggresive to any new additions. I think it's a mix of luck, getting a good specimen, & good husbandry with the tank/feeding.

Mine fed on frozen mysis and a good mix of greens, did great for the time I had him, just got extremely mean quickly.

Depending on how much aptasia you have, you might have luck with Joe's Juice, that got rid of my little majano outbreak I had a bit ago. I had a few aptasia's that I took out with it also. Haven't seen any since, fingers crossed.

i really like the activity of tangs

    unless its feeding time,

the clowns never move from the top left corner of the tank, ever.

the blenny darts from one hiding spot to the next about twice an hour.

the damsels are neat cus they are always schooling to gether,

but the tang is constantly moving around the tank, playin in the currents, swimming through the rock work. he is definatly the life of the tank.

even if the new fish dont move around too much, it'll be more to look at :)
