    so it is in effect providing some carbon dosing although in a different way?

    Different in that you're adding it to something else which gets added to the tank.

    I have honestly never heard this even with multiple friends using this method... lol. I dont doubt you are correct, you clearly know more than I do about the matter. But is the vinegar's carbon source diminished when reacted with the kalk? So the small amount of carbon dosing is really just a byproduct of the intended purpose?

    My skimmer pulled a little more darker skim, and my glass is a liitle less algae film on it- that's all I know.

    I drip my Calc in over a few hours like 3 quarts solution over 2-4, thus not spiking Ph, etc.
