Just thinking about some stuff. I haven't been able to make much progress on the tank. I did clean it up and cleaned up my equipment. I still need to decide on lights and a sump. I think eshopps refugiums are nice. I've also got to figure out lighting. I'm going to start off with a fowlr. I will have a mixed reef later but, I want to try and get my fish and inverts first just to get used to the bioload of the livestock I want to keep. I plan on having all my livestock by the end of the summer. Then I want to start keeping some sofies and lps. I have kept both in the past and really like the coral side of the hobby. I really want a controller this go around but I'll have to wait and see. Things I already have are tank, stand, skimmer, wavemakers, and I do have a odyssea t5 light but, I don't want to use it. I would like a nicer fixture with better reflectors. I have a reactor but, not sure want I'm going to run this time. SO many things to think about it.

How did I miss a fellow 90 galloner build thread??

Welcome back first of all, and congrats on the score! Please check out the 90 thread as well. You might get some idea what other people are using for their 90s :)

I did the same thing with the rocks when we moved: I used the same rocks to set up another tank like 10 days later. I know most of the beneficial live stuff was dead, but when you start a new tank, youd want some dead stuff anyway to jump start the cycle, no (if others can chime in on this)? I didnt even rinse the rocks when I re-started it. I made sure that none of ammo, nitrite, or nitrate was detectable before I put any critters in the tank. I dont know about the bleached rocks, Id rinse the hell out of it, before use. I might cycle the bleached ones in a different container just in case.

As far as the sump/fuge goes, DIY is the cheapest way to go. It might not be great looking as manufactured ones, but you dont really see them if its in the cabinet, right? Keep looking out for a used 20~40gallon tank on the CL again and DIY it into a sump/fuge! (40 might be too tall for your stand.)

If you're thinking FOWLR, the light fixture doesnt have to be the priority at the moment. Try to find a sump tank, get the plumbing going, fill it up and go from there!!
