i got my first 2 fish today 2 purple firefish, i floated them for 15 mins and now have them drip acclimating right now at about 1 drop a sec probably do this for 20 mins or so

the guys looked healthy at the store (btw i think i found my new fav lfs lol)
i will say the guy who caught them was kinda like ya we have it but then the guy i had check me out was very knowledgeable he even gave me a history lesson on instant ocean lol

Congrats! Take your time on the acclimation process.....it's always nice to get new livestock and I know it's hard to wait to release them but be patient!

    Enjoy your new fish.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Cool.

Love Fire fish, can be very passive and secretive until they feel comfortable.

    Congrats. :)

ik im giving like an hour to acclimate them, always hate how they seem to stick to one corner of the bag making you think their dead lol
i will get pics of them when they are in tank and ik they are fine (this is the most nerve wrecking part hoping they survived the car ride home)

ahh, get them in the tank;) 30 minutes is plenty IMO, unless the LFS params are a TON different than yours;)

ok in the tank lol both instantly swam for the same corner and are hiding there

i got a pic of one before it went into hiding in my rock work, i sure hope the little guys are fine.

should i try putting food in the tank for them? or just let them have a day or so.

Oh that doesn't sound good. Hiding in the corner is a sign of lynchonitinitus

Kidding. They'll be fine! You can feed a small amount if you want, I always did add a welcoming gift if they'd eat.
