Looks like a good start, however after only 2 months I seriously doubt your parameters are any where near stable enough to keep nems.Your carpet nem doesn't look happy and seabae's are notoriously tricky.

Heres my $.02. If you want to go the reef route (corals and nems) you need a sump/fuge and better lights. MH or T5 6x54 would be nice on a 75.

How many bulbs are in your light fixture?

Again, I think your current system will support a few hardy low light corals like zoas, rics and softies, but definitely not nems. And if you lose a nem right now it's gonna kill your entire tank.

You have pretty much the same kinda gear I started with, and to be honest, it wasn't long before I realized I needed to upgrade.

Keep a close on those nems, especially your carpet that's pissed off, take it out or back to the LFS if need be.

i should clear up what i stated earlier...the tank was started about 4 months ago, when i say up and running i mean with live stuff in it(other than the sand and rocks)my parameters are actually perfect, ill do a reading tonight and post the numbers, and the carpet is pissed because i had just moved him away from the suction tube on the right(i also took the extension off it because i dont want it to rip him) i havent added anything in a few weeks, but i havent had any problems yet

Still buddy, 4 months is really soon for a nem. Even though your parameters are "perfect" (trust me they are not) the full cycle doesn't complete until around 6-8 months because it takes that amount of time for the anaerobic bacteria to colonize the interior portions of the live rock.

    Some sources recommend:
    1) Never add a nem.

    2) If you must, then not until 12 months.

But if your mousetraps works then it works, only time will tell.

Looks like you are off to a good start I am not expert on nems but I know I dont like having them in my tank if this is your first tank you will want to keep a very close eye on him since nems seems to have a fancy for powerhead and intake tube and like to nuke an entire tank if that happens... one of the main reasons I stay away from them.

You are off to a good start though and it looks like you are using power compacts if I am right I had used them on my old 55 gallon for a long while with a good amout of success though mine were only softies like xenia and green star polyup. I have another reefer friend that has been running PC on his 55 gallon for a long time with success of keeping monti cap and nems alike so the lighting isn't the best but an upgrade will be in order sometime soon after you get your tank established a little more.

And finally why are there not pictures of these clowns that you mentioned! I want to see please.

thanks to all, and i agree that it is a risk with the nem, but im good friends with the owner of my lps and took him a water sample to ask his opinion before i added it...he said just keep an eye on it..which i do...the tank is in my hallway beside the livingroom..so i get to stare at it anytime i go to the bathroom, downstairs, bedroom..pretty much anytime i leave the room, which is awesome...thanks whiskey i do know about the 12 month rule, and decided to take a risk...but for now its working...constant 10% waterchanges and plenty of attention has paid off so far....i do have a ? for yall though...i really wanna add some hammer coral, but dont know alot about them...while i have yalls attention...whats your thoughts?

    thanks,
    Shaun
