I test fired all 3 when they arrived to make sure no DOA's I am still seeing spots. I liked the color, from what I can tell on the floor. DAMN they are bright!!! Btw the ballasts went on sale at Marine Depot for 134.99 and the spiders are also on sale for 47.99.

It was wierd...I went to order and saw my cart total was much lower than before. They actually went on sale 10 min before I ordered them.:)

I'm with tangster on not loving the ushio 14k bulbs as well. They are more like a 10k than a 14k, but they do have great PAR.

So you are going to be running only 2x54w of t5ho for actinic/ supplements? that might not be enough to counteract the bright white of the ushios.

I run 2x 80 of ATI B+ with my 2x250 MH running xm10ks and they barely do enough blue for me.

We will see...A Glo brand t-5 retro with ballast is only 55.00 and reflectors are 20.00 ea. I already have bulbs, so If I need more I will leave room to add more. I like the whiter look though, so it will be trial an error. thanks for the info though...it all helps!!

I was going to ask if you saw the sale at marine depot, I just ordered 3 myself should be in tomorrow. Are you going to run them 220v or 110v?

110v. They are pretty energy efficient, according to what I have read due to the fact that they are electronic ballasts. I really dont have a choice. All that is available near the tank is 110. Too far of a run to wire in 220.
