Well it didn't take long. Currently have a 75g that we took over from a friend several years ago. Moved it 4 hours up north a year ago and now we are upgrading to a 125g that I scored a few months ago for free.;D Let me tell ya I have learned alot from a few of you on here and I just want to thank all that have given me advise through this last year.;)
Last week my lights were delivered and I had to put it together just to see.( I was like a kid on christmas morning) Wow they are bright compared to the Pcs I have now. And tonight I ordered 80 lbs of key largo rock and 80 lbs of sand from macrorock. Looks like pretty nice stuff.
I am also considering a fuge that comes with everything so again I am asking for a little more advise here.Yay or nay?
I also threw in the pic of the lights I bought just for fun. :)

Sumps and fuges are always good if you can add them in. You get additional water volume and with the fuge you have a place to grow pods for food and to help export nitrate and phosphate.

Lol, I guess I should have more specific. I kinda already knew that. we were debating on building our own or buying the one above. The one above has everything in the pic included for $279. Just unsure of the quality of the skimmer. Been looking some Eshop. Been reading some pretty positive reviews on them. The skimmer pump is a catalina 635gph and the return is a 850 gph. Doesn't say what brand skimmer??

I cant tell the sizes on the image above, but the individual compartments look on the small side to me?

if you make your own, you can ensure the skimmer you want will fit
you can incorporate a reasonably sized refugium etc

Thats kinda what Rob thought as well. He said it really only seems like about ten gallons. What is a good size for a 125. Thanks again Steve!

The skimmer appears to be a Coralife SuperSkimmer. The 65 Gallon version that I have on my tank works great. I wold definitely try to get a larger sump than that though. The tank looks like it's a 10G and will not have much room, if any, for a fuge (which is always recommended).

I would build it yourself out of a 40 Breeder. mine cost less than $100 to build minus the skimmer.
you can see pics in my build thread. also check out Powermans thread Here.

Well we decided to go with a 30g sump/fuge. Rob is picking up the tank tonight and I am just getting ready to order the skimmer. We decided to go with the Eshoppe PSK-150.
The rock and sand I ordered shipped out today. Lol, it's like christmas in Feb!

Ok no more for me. Just planned on ordering the darn skimmer.Instead I had to add in some mineral mud and a refractometer. Thats it, I'm done now.lol
