So I am upgrading my aquarium from a 6gal to a 10gal here is what I did

    1. Drain aprox 2.5gal into container
    2. Transfer live stock to container
    3. Drain the rest of my water
    4. Transferred the live rock/sand to new aquarium
    5. Transferred 2-3 gal to new tank
    6. Transferred livestock
    7. Transferred the rest of my water

How am I doing so far??? Was all this ok? Also my HOB filter couldn't reach deep enough into the tank, so what I did was get some purified culligans water from the fill up station at walmart and poured in enough to reach the filter approx 2.5 inches of water added.

Anyone have any objections to what I did?

I'm not to worried about my salinity of my water bc my hydrometer was saying my salinity was running a little to begin with.

Seems like you did ok to me. Try and maintain your salinity going forward as you do not want large swings that will stress your environment.

I guess my real question comes in at this, my tank is 75% full, if I fill it up to the top with new salt water will that hurt anything?

No it will not - provided that you replace future evaperation and maintain the tank at the same level.

Will I need more live rock? Or sand?

It may not be necessary. It is really what you think looks best.
