Upgrade or stay stock

IF you can get that retro for $100.. i put it in for let's say a few day's and monitor your temp closely along with the plastic hood system for signs and smells of melt down... And deff make sure you fans are in good working order.. And clean the fans as needed due to pet dander... I know about that we have cats and there hair gets into mine i have a 24 gal aquapod and they love to lay on top of the hood when i am not around...

i would think that thing has a very loud fan built in.

 

It has 4 fans built in. Still holds alot of heat in the tank. Due to the way it fits.

 

Like i said befor with the temp check it often for tank and hood temp's raising... Or look at T5's like what was posted. Or another idea would be a controler so when your tank water gets to a certain temp... The contrler will shut your lights off... then back on once the temp drops to what ever deg you have it set for...

Keep in mind just ideas...

I really should know better then try and save a buck with this stuff. Just thought for an HQI set up that matches teh tank that 100 bucks was a good deal.

 

Who know's maybe it is... Look around other site's that sells that product and see if there are any customer review's..?? Wether it be a retro fit... Or complete hood system that has the same set up. Who knows there may be good review's...
