I have decided to upgrade my lighting and was wondering what type and what location online is the best bang for my buck. Im looking into two 150w's, two 175w's, two 250w's, or possibly three 150w's. Suggestions will be appreciated my tank is 72" long. Also theories and suggestions on color spectrum I'm thinking 20k is that better or would 14k do the trick since i will supplement acnitic with my PCs?

Holy cow, why didn't anybody tell me about this place earlier. $169 for a 380W MH and PC fixture! That's less than I just paid for my 4 bulb T5 fixture. How good are their products as far as bulbs and the fixtures and ballasts holding up over time?

Alright, well I don't know what everyone's experience on here with the Odyssea lights is but I just did a quick search on them and they get a lot of mixed reviews so I'm glad I went with the more expensive better know brand, but that's just me. The price is really cheap but I'm going to guess it's just like anything else in this hobby, you get what you pay for.

my odyssea lights have been beaming for a while now. i have 2 150s and my ballast are pretty cool to the touch. bc of something that happened years ago with an old product no one wants these when they are good lights for a fair price. all the reviews you read are an i heard this and i heard that. where's the guy who's house burned down. how many houses burn down each year from christmas lights. is anyone scared to decorate the tree.

Exactly my point. I know multiple people running them and loving them. I do know one person who has run several for longer periods of time and says the ballasts do tend to go at about one year. Fortunately Icecap ballasts are direct plug-n-play compatible, and up the output of your Odyssea fixture even more. If you add the cost of the Odyssea fixture and the Icecap ballast you are still saving money over the higher end competition.

I once had a odyssea light fixture and it only lasted for two years. I would come home from work and smell something burning not knowing what it was. Well after a couple of weeks the capacitor burned out, so from this I would never get anything from odyssea ever again. You get what you pay for a piece of crap light fixture.
