    Hello,

I wanted to see if anyone would be able to help me out. I am going to be upgrading my 46G to a 75G tank. What would be the best way to do this. I just put new sand and about 20G of RO water in the 75G today. I will have a sump with the 75G, which I do not currently have with my 46G. Any suggestions on the best way to move everything over and how long should I wait before moving everything? Am I able to use the water from my 46G or should I just get all new RO water?

    Thanks for you help!!!

I would drain your 46 into the 75, move the rock and coral into the 75, then add fresh saltwater that you've mixed for about a day to finish it off! I did about the same thing taking my 55 and 46 and combing them into a 125.

Did you use RO water in your 46 gallon? If not, I wouldn't use that water, unless you have no nuisance algae to speak of. I did the same thing as ingtar as well when moving my 16 gallon to my 40 gallon.

    Edit:

If you have the time and patients, I would suggest fully cycling the tank first though.
