Hello all. I'm looking to put an order in today with Marine Depot for a wavemaker and some new PH's. Currently, in my 75gal, I have a 480 gph return line hooked up to a flat return nozzle, and 2 corallife 750's (I believe) PH's. The flow is pretty low in my tank, but thats been fine due to stocking zoa's, mushrooms, rics, a couple torch coral, a hammer coral, some sort of brain, a gsp, and a nem. I do have a couple sps a birds nest, an acro, and plate coral (sorry I know I've given less then scientific names, but still working on it). Moral of the story is that I would like to start focusing more on the SPS (while leaving it a mixed tank).

Here is what I'm looking to order (today). I'm more then likely going to buy an innovative marine spin stream nozzle. These things look pretty neat and should allow for some varying flow at all times (If I can hook it up nicely). For the wavemaker I'm looking at the JBJ Quad Ocean Pulse (Don't want to spend alot, but looks like a good option). Hooked up to that I would have 2 Hydor Koralia Evolution 1050's, and 2 Hydor Koralia Evolution 750's.

I'm looking to have the 1050's toward the top front of the sides pointed to the middle lower portion of the back of the tank. The 2 750's will be in the rockwork about mid level in the tank facing somewhat forward (as best as the rockwork will allow me). I'm not positive on what I'll have alternating I am thinking R/FRT L/RR ON L/FRT R/RR OFF, then L/FRT R/RR ON R/FRT L/RR OFF.

I know I always have about 10 questions per post sorry, but any thoughts would be helpful. You guys think I should go higher flow for the sps? Too much for the softess? Thanks in advance, as always you guys are awesome.

Also, the 2 coral life PH's will be removed unless you think its better to keep them (but don't really want that science experiment feel).

Missed that in the first post. That sounds great. I used a system like that on mine and my corals were happy. You may be forced to adjust the placements due to your rock work but I think that is a good start.

Recieved my order today for the x4 Hydor PH's and the spin stream return. WOW.. Hydor is the way to go can't believe the flow that I'm getting from these! The JBJ wavemaker seems to be working great. I believe that I will be very happy with this setup. I also put my 2 marineland 750's behind my rock work, all around I cant believe the junk that this setup is kickin up.

Setting up the spin stream return was real simple just took off the old flat lockline return head and rigged it up with the attachment that came with it. Took about 2 minutes, and with the entire setup I should have a constantly changing flow.

Glad top hear it is working well. Is it kicking up your sand at all? I know a few guys have had success limiting this by pointing the powerheads upwards

Due to having sugar fine sand, It was when I first set them up (also alot of other junk). Now the tank seems to be cleaner then usual. I did play with how they are setup a bit to find a sweet spot, but didn't point them up (I have enough surface movement as is with the spin stream return and 30gal. sump.

I have heard alot of reviews about these PH's clicking when they turn on, I hear almost 0 noise from them and my tank is almost silent to start with.

Also, as an update I can visually see a huge difference in the color of my GSP! and some other corals are much further extended and looking good. Wish i could show how bright the GSP is currently, but can't find my camera.
