Our stock Sundial T5 fixture bulbs are approaching 4 months old, and we're thinking about upgrading them to better quality bulbs. The upgrade may be needed soon because my mom is trying to grow an acro frag under the lights to see if it will work...:D

I've heard very good things about the UVL bulbs. What bulb brand should we buy? And what would be a good bulb combination?

What should I expect from upgraded bulbs? Better colors? Or do the corals get more light as well, meaning better/faster coral growth?

    Thanks for any replies

I have also heard nothing but good raving reviews of the uvl bulbs. When i upgrade I think i will also be going with them in the 420nm and 460nm actinics.

I've also heard very good things about Giesemann bulbs.

What's the difference between a UVL HO bulb and a UVL V-HO bulb?

Anymore help on bulbs here? The acro is doing fine after having it about a month, nice color (blue/green). I have it high up. Towards the bottom, I have various mushrooms. I have zoas/palys from middle to up. The current bulb combination is 2 39-watt 10k and 2 39-watt 460 nm actinics.

    Thanks!

    I love my UVL bulbs.
As for the combination, I would go with half of them being 420nm actinics, and the other half being 14000K daylights.
