    copepods would be populating the fuge and many would thus end up in the DT due to the return
    copepods do prosper in tanks with shallow sand beds - Mine is about 1 inch and I have abundant amphipods and copepods now ( night vigil)


    thats great news, cant get them here sadly.

    maybe i'll do 2 or 3 inches of sand, that wouldn't cause a crash right? i see i see.. are mangroves good for nutrient export? how often do you vacuum your SSB ? ;D

    Hi Yheartsp

    mangroves in the sump are a very good Nitrate removing plant -

    Lunatic 69 - is one member on here that uses them with success - do a search on Mangroves

    vacuum SSB - I only have 1 inch of sand and dont vacuum it as I use fine grade Argonite 0.5 - 1.5mm grains , I do syphon over the top of it when doing water changes but thats it
