    dont rinse with Rodi water ducktales - rinse with some of the old tank water
    there will be bacteria on the sand you want to keep, you would kill it with RODI and it would decompose in your new tank upsetting your parameters

    you dont need to clean it - just rinse it to get rid of detrius and large waste particles
