Okay I'm upgrading my 36 gallon to a 75 gallon, going to pick it up now. Hopefully you guys can offer me some advice and answer some of my questions.

    1. What should I use to clean the new tank?
    2. Should I use all the sand and water from my 36 gallon?
    3. Will my tank cycle again?
    4. What's the easiest way to switch tanks out? I want to put the new tank where the old one is
    5. Any way to tell if the lights I'm getting with the new tank are any good or if if I need to replace them?
    6. I only have two clowns and a yellow clown goby, will they be okay to make it through a cycle if my tank does?
    7. What's the best way to acclimate everything into the new tank?

    Thanks!

    1. use vinegar

    2. use your old water, but use new sand and seed it with a cup of your old sand

    3. You will probably see a mini cycle, new rock, new sand, just keep an eye on your parameters

    4. drain the tank into tubs, buckets, or whatever you have. put your liverock and fish in with the water. drain the tank down to the sand. move your tank out of the way, put new one in place. pour some water in your new tank, put the new sand in the new tank. Put a large plate on top of your sand. (make sure to have at least 40 gallons of new saltwater ready)
pour new water into the tank slowly, making sure to hit the plate. The plate will help from stirring up the sand. Put you rock in and fish in. then the rest of your old water. you may need to add some more new water to top it off.

    5. i would replace the bulbs, so you know when they were installed

    6. I keep my tank at room temp, and make sure my new water is room temp before doing water changes. as long as the temp isn't far off from what your normal temp is, then they should be fine

    7. you shouldn't have to acclimate them.

Some may disagree with my opinion, but this is the same method i used when I upgraded my tank.

Good luck and be sure to post pictures
