Hi, I (currently) have a 50 gallon reef with:

-50 pounds of LR, 30 pounds of LS

-2 powerheads, 1 aquaclear 110, and a corallife super skimmer

    - 1 metal halide [with 4 actinic tubes, 6 actinic LED lights, and 2 regular lights], and 1 T5 with 2 18,000K tubes

-2 BIG gorgonians, 2 small colonies of zoa's, 2 hammer coral heads, 15 frogspawn heads, 4 xenia heads, 1 carpet anemone (in "the fuge"), 1 ocellaris clown, 2 green chromis, 4 small striped mushrooms, 2 colorful ghost shrimp, 1 lawnmower blenny, 5 hermit crabs, 2 GIANT turbo snails, and (yes, i admit), one half-dead yellow rope sponge. Also, there are a couple other tiny sponges growing on the LR.

I am soon going to be upgrading to a 150 gallon with possibly a sump.
The MH I have on is too big for the 50 gallon I have now. It is meant for a 75 or 90 gallon tank, so it hangs off the side a bit. Will this MH be too big for the 150 gallon tank?

Also, I want suggestions on what livestock I can add to the 150 gallon that will be reef-safe and get along with my livestock previously mentioned...

And what's "coral rock"?? The guy I'm getting this from says there is coral rock in with the tank, is he talking about lace rock or what??

    Thanks in advance.

one halide probably won't cover the whole tank, with out knowing the wattage I can't say if you can use it on the 150 or not.

    get a tang

probably live rock or base rock(dead live rock). the rock is the skeletal remains of corals that have died but many organisms still live on the "live rock"

I was thinking about centering all the LR and live corals in the middle of the tank and putting the MH and T5 directly over that part of the tank. That would leave some swimming room for other bigger fish (like a naso or unicorn tang), right?

that would work. just don't forget some hiding places for the fish through out the tank

Yeah, maybe I'll put some bigger stray pieces of rock near the back.
