    I am not sure. When I saw a breakdown of the set-up to do it, it wasn't a run of the mill aquarium pump. Think something like an aqua-lifter on steroids. And thinking of it, I think the person said that it ran bronze bushings and that's why they couldn't do reef set-ups like this yet. I am going to try and find the video. I remember it was not on youtube, so if I do find it, the best I could do is post a link.
    I never even thought about that. Man, you REALLY don't want to have a power outage with one of these things!

    You need a compressor type pump, to constantly suck water through the top tank. Have seen a 'how to' for this before using a fridge freezer compressor. I was interested in this a while ago when all the videos of these set ups appeared on youtube. Will look for a link.
