I don't know that brand at all. I would suggest sticking to an Aqua-C EV-180, PM Bullet, Octopus or something with an established reputation of being good. Skimmers are one of those things that it's best to bite the bullet up front so you only have to buy once. If you have a cyano problem, work on getting the dissolved organics down (which are you doing with upgrading the skimmer) and increasing the flowrate by getting more pumps in your tank.

Yeah, it should be better than the Prizm. I'm wondering if the skimmer you have is sold only in the UK or something? I couldn't even find anything on Google about it as far as reviews go. Honestly, I would save the money right now and try to continue saving for a well known quality skimmer. I would just stick with the Prizm for the time being and just supplement with weekly 10% waterchanges until you can afford an Aqua-C. Since your tank is only 55G, you can get away with the EV-120, since it is rated for 120G. It's not that much less than the EV-180, but it is cheaper.

I got the v2 400 tmc skimmer, its good upto 400l, got some pretty good reviews for it, i think it is only sold in the uk, same as the aquac remora is only sold in the u.s don,t think it is as good as the remora, but time will tell, just breaking it in now for 48 hours..
