Since he is treating you so poorly, I think you should warn everyone about the seller.

That's terrible! He's being so defensive, makes me think he knows he sent it broken, or that he packed it super poorly so it broke.

I'd like to, but I will give him a chance to come through tomorrow. I don't want to get flamed here for bashing someone. I'm trying to keep it civil.

I'm so upset right now though, I really want to demand a refund and send it back to him out of principle, whether I can fix it or not... it would just be a bunch of headache and I'd still need to look for a decent reactor set up and have gained nothing.

today was one hell of a day... from finding out that my mom has complete hearing loss in one ear, to a gas leak and having to evacuate my house (wife, dogs and cat) this morning by order of the gas company, to this.

I'm just ready to go to sleep and wake up tomorrow... maybe it was all just a dream....hahaha.

Well, I stopped by my LFS today on the way home from work and showed them the cracked reactor... they said it's no big deal and will fix the cracks FOC with acrylic weld and suggested I glue or epoxy an acrylic plate to the bottom down the road for added strength (they said they'd cut one to the same shape/ size for me for $40). I'm going to see what the ****** is going to do and if he sends me a bottom plate from Geo, I'll glue that to it.

My LFS did this without me even telling them how it happened. They just saw it and said "I can fix that for you, Will no problem"!! Restores my faith in humanity.

I love my LFS, K+ to them!

They will get my business for a long time to come (and in case you're wondering, they don't sell calcium reactors and even suggested I look for a good used one).

I would never buy something from a craigs list ad and have it shipped to me. I only search CL for areas i'm willing to drive to.

Oh, and I had something like this happen with car stuff once. I called the state police where they lived and they took care of it. They made him go to their station and he confessed and had to go get a money order and the cops actually had him bring it to them and they mailed it to me.

First off, I normally wouldn't buy on CL like that either... he represented himself really well on the phone and showed me his ebay acct, which has 100% positive feedback. When I first talked to him, he even offered to help me set it up over the phone, if I had any questions. He was almost TOO nice. Maybe that should've clued me in. I don't know.

Second, I can't imagine getting police to cooperate like that. I also can't say that bad packaging is criminal. It should be, but I don't think it is the law. :p

Yeah, the police won't help you on this.

I think that could easily be glued, or simply add a new plate to the bottom to mount the pump to.

I have a geo 618, so if you need any help LMK.
