So I bought a used Koralia 4 from someone off a craigslist today. She said it works perfect only 1 year old. I have it back at my office. I plugged it in just to see if it power up. It works. How powerful should I expect it to be because it didn't feel to powerful and I have read that the K4 is one of the bigger powerheads offered? Thanks

Koralia pumps dont typically feel as strong because it disperses a wider stream, which, IMO is better. Hope this helps BTW K4s are rated at 1200 gph

Sounds like its fine, i guess I just expected more when I plugged it in. But then again I am brand new to this and have no experience with these powerheads.

    Thanks

I thought the same thing but I watched where the food went from the flow created by 2 K3s on my 75. It moves very well!!

You can also use the Maxijet mod for the MJ1200 and you can nearly double the flow simply by changing the propeller. You can also try getting the propeller from a local hobby shop. They are used on RC boats.

My Koralia 4 has like a split flow... it doesn't really flow forward. It comes out the sides. The Koralia 3 has a nice wide flow that I can't explain... it's kind of like when you turn on a garden hose and it gurgles out. I like the 2's and 3's better. I had to put the cone adapter on the 4 to direct the flow off the sand because it was getting kicked up even though I had it at the top of the tank pointing toward the surface. I may have got a bum head but I can't see how it could flow any other way.
    Good luck.
