    I agree you may want to watch the auction for the equipment, but then go ahead and buy a new tank...once you start shipping tanks around, especially after then have been used for a while...you are asking for a leak IMO. The actual tank is the cheap part...couple of hundred bucks. The equipment is what kills you from a cost perspective.

    I bought mine new. Tank, stand, canopy, with NO lighs and the glass tops for 1100.00 reef ready all glass. APC is right the equipment costs more. MH lights, skimmers, wet/dry or refugium, pumps and power heads will cost more then the tank itself.
