Used vertex 180 with new pump a good choice?

I have a chance to pick up a used vertex (2 year old) with a brand new pump that has just been ordered for 200.00... Its the ins-sump version.. Its the 180 size and would be ran on my 125 system.. Is this a good deal? I currently use a octopus nw-150..

I wasnt for sure if a skimmer could wear out other than the pump and/or if the technology of the newer models were an issue.. For the 200.00 range I thought it may be good deal but was checking here before I went for it..

Vertex makes nice skimmers, i had the IN-80 on my tank and it did well. I think the IN180 would be good, but I dont know how it compares to your reef octopus.
