using a file on egg crate?

    I was just going to see if its ok to use a metal file to file down the rough edges on egg crate after its been cut? Could i just wash it off after im done filing? Or should i not do it at all

    Just wash it after and you will be fine I have done this many times.

    I've used it before on both black and white eggcrate with no problems.

    If you're wondering about introducing metal to your water, I don't think that would be an issue. In the plastic vs. metal bout--metal wins every time. Plastic would be ground away, with no metal being liberated in the process. You'll be fine.
