    Hi,

    The tank is empty and I am pretty sure, if you clean with bleach complete the cleaning and then fill the tank with water using dechlorinator and then let dry the residue left will be common salt. I currently bought the Vinger as the tank has been dry for 2 months and my issue is more hard deposits vs diseases.

    :)

    Hi Slenhart1018,

    Based off your information I would actually suggest Vinegar as well, the mild acid will break down deposits.

    Bleach = Disinfecting
    Vinegar = Deposit removal and basic cleaning

    Does this help?

    I recommend vinegar as well.. Bleach has a lot of down sides..

    1. You shouldn't be breathing bleach, health hazzard.
    2. Bleach with saltwater is a nasty mix. I have seen it fizz up to the point it's smoking with nasty vapors when bleaching buoy lines when lobstering to remove growth.
    3. It ruins your cloths.
    4. Burns your skin.
    5. You have to make sure you rinse it FULLY!!!

    White vinegar & a razor is the way to go.

    I will give it a try, my only problem is that my tank is 180 gallons, might need alot of vinegar.

    That's ok.. Vinegar is still cheaper too, but your only washing the tank.. ;)
