Hey ya' all... just wanted to share that my dermatologist insists that I use gloves when dealing with my tank. She said she has seen terrible ulcers and ... whatever .... as a result of people not using gloves when putting their hands in the water or touching corals. I personally never bothered but I guess now I will follow her advice. Just trying to find real long ones, because my tank is very high....
Hope you all take this advice seriously...

Do you know where to get real long ones? As I said, my tank is very tall... otherwise I will put on my diving gear and goggles hahaha :)

I would not recommend that... check out some websites that sell fishing or gardening gloves.... because we should not only protect our hands but when dealing with the tank everything should be covered...
check out this link: Aquarium Protective Gloves
That the type of glove I am talking about...
    Hope this helps

Good info! I grew up on the beach. Gloves just wouldn't work for me. Everybody's skin will react to the water differently.

Unless one has reactions to aquariums ect. I wouldn't recommend or use them. They get in the way and are often a lot clumsier, plus if your careful it shouldn't be an issue. :)

I never used gloves before but noticed some irritations on my skin, so this was just a suggestion. We all do our own thing and that's fine. Just wanted to share what my dermatologist told me...
So, whatever you decide is up to you.

Hey Hender... just had to respond.... I don't think you or we are the ones who are qualified to judge what this might do to our skin in the long run.... leave that up to the pros. Like I said, not telling anyone what to do, simply sharing the info.
So far, I never used gloves and had no reactions but again you never know what effect it might have in the long run.
