    Hey guys,

I got some marine snow today to start feeding my corals. I all my corals are small and I have a hammer, a torch, a toadstool, a xenia and a kenya tree.

My question is how much marine snow do I actually give them? It doesn't say anywhere on the bottle.

The instructions say to put the snow in the flow of a powerhead with the filtration and skimmer off, this makes sense, but should I be targeting them using a pipette?

    Thanks

    Ryan

Feed at least one capful per 20 gallons, per feeding. Larger doses can be added by feeding several times per day, or continuously via a drip-feed system or peristaltic dosing pump.

which product/ brand did you get Ryan?

I have the Brightwell one and its instructions do include suggested dosages and directions for target feeding

I assume these products relative strenght does vary, as on Brightwell product, the suggested starting dose is 2.5 mils per 50 gallons

it is a food type product, as such the only consequences of using to much would be water quality issues, so regular reference to nitrate and phosphate test kits would be good, and starting slowly and increasing, should your water quality and test results indicate you are having no issues as a result of current dose ( then increasing is fine IME)

bear in mind that many people on this site would keep all of those corals you have mentioned without feeding at all

    Thanks guys, appreciate the advice.

Steve, I got Julian Sprungs Marine Snow forumla.

I plan only on using this product occasionally like once a fortnight or something like that. A coral treat if you will :)
