Using pool sand?

    Does anyone use pool filter sand or pool sand? in there tank....it says that this stuff is 99% Quartz....would this be ok to use. I have heard many people using it in their freshwater tanks??

    I have heard that as long as it does not contain silicates it is ok. Some people use play sand from HD. But dont take what I said as LAW.......(That was my disclaimer)

    quartz is a silicate.. SiO2

    dont use it, it will be hell
