ro/di could be causing it 14 tds is just a tad bit to much. Anything over 1 is bad. Also do you have a p04 reactor you might also have phosphates present.

+1, ro/di should be 0 tds. Do you not test your own water? It could be very well that your LFS is telling you your water is perfect when it's really not. Happens.
I would say first thing, get your own test kits. Pay particular attention to nitrates and phosphates.
How is the flow in the tank?

    hello Kedron

The UV will help with anything free floating, but does not help with any secured algae
do you have a Phosphate reactor or some other means of using GFO in your system

I had a similar problem some time ago and used Rhowphos , ( there are other equally as good products, I know ) combined with the manual removal as your doing and eventually
I was able to remove and starve the GHA out of existance

I agree, this seems really high for TDS coming out of an RO/DI. How long has it been since you changed your media?

Regarding the algae growth, my money is on phosphates in our water. Consider getting a phosphate test kit and checking both your tank and your RO/DI water.

Going through the same thing with the hair algae. Here is what i found out. Even though all your parameters are good and your using good water, if the bulbs are old, more red spectrum is entering the tank. Could that be your problem. I know its mine...;D

Not sure. I bought a used fixture w/ X amount of months/yrs on the bulbs. Thought i would be lucky. Guess not. Gonna replace all bulbs in a month or so.
