I just got a foxface rabbitfish over the weekend. Like a lawnmower. Its only been 4 days and almost all my hair algae is gone. This in combination with shorter light schedule. Also, I have read that the hair algae helps control the nitrate and ammonia levels. This is why all water parameter tests come back clean. So once it starts dying off or is no longer present in the tank, watch for a potential spike.

Most likely you need to change your RODI guts. Probably so much green hair algae because of phosphates and nitrates. Your lights are probably fine. I wouldn't leave the halides on for more than 8 hours a day. That is a lot of light for one single leather coral.....you need to get some SPS in there!

I also think you should turn your wetdry into a refugium and get rid of all of those bioballs and filters. Now is a good time considering you have no fish except the damsel.

the thing about UV sterlizers is they are better for keeping things from spreading from one tank to another in a commercial systems or in a complex multi tank personal system than from eradicating a pest in a particular tank. just my 2 cents

I had same problem on my 180. replace all filter in ro. what kind of skimmer do youi have?test for phos. if it reads o . your tank either has phos or build-up of nitrates. make sure skimmer is working good. also if you have sand bed dont stir it up . it will just release more nitrates. anyways after all that either try algae scrubber or build a denitrater. my tank looked like algae farm at first. these 2 things will work, but it takes 3-4 months for them to get established. your test will read 0 but that means your hair algae is eating up either nitrates or phos. giveing you a false test reading , thats why your algae keeps growing and your test say 0
